Meriden is a Squarespace template that gives coaches and consultants a complete toolkit for building a content-rich, service-driven website.
It's built for service providers who want to offer multiple ways to work with clients — 1:1 sessions, courses, podcasts, workshops — all from one organized, welcoming site.
The warm color palette creates an immediately inviting feel, the layout guides visitors through your coaching method without confusion, and the built-in podcast and course pages make it easy to share content that builds trust. If you're a life coach, consultant, therapist, or personal development professional who wants to combine services with content, Meriden probably caught your eye for good reason.
This review covers what Meriden includes, where it shines, and where you'll hit limitations.
The goal: help you figure out if this template is the right fit or if you should keep looking.
Who The Meriden Caaching Squarespace Template Works Best For
This template is designed for coaches and consultants who are drawn to a sophisticated, modern vibe and want to build authority through content while offering multiple ways to work with clients.
If you offer 1:1 coaching, run online courses, host a podcast, or lead workshops — and you want an easy, professional website that showcases all of it — Meriden gives you the structure to do that without feeling cluttered.
This template works especially well for:
Life Coaches: The demo is set up for a life coach, and the structure supports explaining your coaching method, sharing podcast episodes, and offering courses & workshops.
Personal Development Pros: If you help people grow through multiple formats (coaching, courses, content), Meriden's layout keeps everything organized and accessible.
Therapists & Counselors: The warm design creates trust, and the booking integration makes it easy for clients to schedule consultations.
Consultants: Business coaches, career consultants, and advisors can use the "Work With Me" page to share core service offerings and the course page to offer group programs.
Content-Creating Service Providers: If you run a podcast or publish courses alongside your 1:1 services, the Meriden Squarespace template makes it easy to highlight both.

Key Strengths of the Meriden Template
Built for Multi-Interest Service Providers
Meriden is designed for coaches and consultants who offer more than just 1:1 sessions. The structure supports courses, podcasts, workshops, and consultations all in one cohesive Squarespace website.
Warm, Professional Design
The color palette (beige and warm red tones in the demo) creates an immediately inviting, trustworthy feel. The layout uses white space well and feels organized without being sterile. You can easily swap out colors and fonts, but this gives you a great starting point with what’s possible.
Booking Integration Built In
Acuity, Squarespace’s built-in scheduling integration, helps clients book consultations directly from your site without integrating extra tools or friction. This is a feature add-on.
Great for Personal Brands
The design supports storytelling. You can share your coaching philosophy, showcase your personality, and build connection through content and visuals.
Best Use Cases
1. Life Coaches Building a Content Platform
If you offer 1:1 coaching but also run a podcast, publish courses, or host workshops, Meriden's structure lets you highlight all of it without overwhelming visitors.
2. Consultants with Multiple Service Tiers
Business coaches, career consultants, and advisors can use the "Work With Me" page to break down different service levels and the course page for group programs.
3. Therapists & Wellness Professionals
The warm, calming design works well for mental health professionals, and the booking integration makes it easy for clients to schedule sessions.
4. Course Creators
If you're building a business around online courses or group programs, Meriden's dedicated course page easily gives you the space to explain what you're teaching, share schedules, and drive registrations. The structure supports both standalone courses and courses alongside 1:1 services.
What The Meriden Template Is Not Best For
The Meriden template isn't the best fit if you:
Need a portfolio-heavy site with lots of visual work examples
Run a group practice or have a small team you’d like to showcase
Focus primarily on e-commerce or selling physical products
Need a minimal, one-page site (Meriden is built for multiple pages and content)
That said, you can add any of these features to this template, like adding a shop or teams page. But because the Meriden Squarespace template is built specifically for solo coaches and consultants, it's not the best starting point if selling products is your main business model or you have a large team.
Pros & Cons of the Meriden Coaching Template
Cons
Not great for complex stores or product filtering
Not as set up for SEO out of the gate; you'll need to adjust heading hierarchy manually
The warm color palette may not suit everyone's brand (though it's customizable)
Multiple built-in pages might feel like overkill if you're a minimalist or prefer a simple one-page site
Pros
Clean, sophisticated design
Built-in appointment booking
Built-in podcast page & course page
Responsive design
Great for combining free content with paid services
Multiple CTA opportunities throughout
Clean, organized layout that doesn't feel overwhelming
Getting started with the Meriden template is easy:
Once you pick Meriden in the Squarespace 7.1 template library and you're ready to build, here's what to do first:
Replace the demo content. Swap in your own hero image, headlines, and CTA. Work your way down the homepage, replacing all demo text and images with your own.
Customize your coaching method section. The demo shows "Focus, Reflect, Refine" — change this to match your actual process or philosophy.
Set up your "Work With Me" page. Break down your service offerings with clear descriptions. Add CTAs for each service level (1:1, group, courses, etc.).
Build out your Course page. If you offer online courses or group programs, add details, schedules, and registration information. If you don't offer courses, you can delete this page entirely.
Set up your Podcast page. If you run a podcast, add your episodes here. If you don't have a podcast, delete this page or repurpose it for blog content or case studies.
Update your Workshops page. Add upcoming events, webinars, or group programs. If you don't run workshops, delete this page.
Update your About page. Tell your story. Explain your philosophy, share your credentials, and make it clear why someone should work with you.
Connect your booking system. Set up Squarespace Scheduling (or integrate Acuity or Calendly) on your booking page so clients can schedule consultations.
Adjust your colors and fonts. Head into Site Styles by clicking the paint brush in the upper right and change the colors and typography to match your brand.
Connect your newsletter. Set up your email provider (Squarespace Campaigns, Mailchimp, Flodesk, or my favorite, Kit) in the newsletter block so you can start collecting leads.
Double check everything and go live. Check how everything looks on mobile, review your grammar and spacing, make sure all your buttons and links are working, then hit publish.
Meriden Squarespace Template FAQs
Can I sell products on the Meriden website template?
Yes, technically…Squarespace lets you add a shop page to any site. But Meriden's layout is more focused on services and content than selling products. If your site will mostly be a store, try a template designed for e-commerce.

Yes, once you add the proper heading hierarchy (which isn't included by default). It's mobile-friendly, loads quickly, and supports blogs and podcasts for publishing content. The clean structure also helps with readability and navigation.
Can I use the Meriden template on mobile?
Yes. Squarespace is actually really forward-thinking when it comes to responsive design. This template is fully responsive and adjusts to look great on phones and tablets.
Can I change fonts and colors on the Meriden template?

Is Meriden good for coaches who run podcasts?
Absolutely. Perfect use-case, in fact. The built-in podcast page makes it easy to feature episodes alongside your coaching services.
What if I don't offer courses or workshops?
No problem. If you like the look or vibe of this template, just delete the pages you don't need. Every page is optional.
Can I switch templates later?
